NCT is back in the United States with their subunit, NCT Dream, and I am extremely excited for their world tour that has already started! NCT Dream is a subunit of NCT, which stands for Neo Culture Technology. NCT was formed in 2016. NCT Dream was formed with the purpose in mind of becoming the teenage subunit to NCT, allowing the members to explore their youth at that age. Members would go through an “admission” to join the group, and then “graduation” after leaving the group. Their debut was August 25, 2016 with the song “Chewing Gum.” The lineup of NCT Dream consists of seven members: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. Their ages ranged from 15 to 17. Mark actually had his graduation from NCT Dream, but was later promoted into NCT Dream as a 7 member group again! This meant the end of the “graduation” age-based system for NCT Dream. 

If you haven’t yet heard the news, SM has announced SM 3.0 and many exciting plans for the future artists of SM entertainment! SM entertainment is known for its many famous artists like EXO, NCT, and Red Velvet. Lee Soo-man, the owner of SM Entertainment, gathered enough people to start an in-house production system and created the string of many successful artists. This included its first boy band named H.O.T, and S.E.S through 1996-1997. The first soloist at SM was the queen herself BoA, who actually still performs today!

The kings hit the charts again with their new album, “The Name Chapter: Temptation.” This album, with the title track “Sugar Rush Ride,” reached so much success both in South Korea and America. The album is about the coming of adulthood despite different obstacles and temptations. Yeonjun said, “It’s our story yet again, so there are a lot of songs that show our musical color.”

This group has had many amazing accomplishments in the U.S and in their music career, and I am excited to tell you about my amazing experience at the concert and their success as a K-pop group!
